5 Tips for the Best BBYO Summer Program
BBYO Summer Programs are my absolute favorite part of BBYO. However, I had no idea what to expect going into mine. So, here are a few tips for those embarking on a BBYO journey this summer:
- Go in open-minded.
- Be friendly to everyone. There will be so many different people on your trip, originating from everywhere across the US and the world. Don’t resort to your stereotypes about other states; view everyone as a potential friend. Personally, the closest friends that I made were the ones I never expected to make.
- Get outside your comfort zone. From riding camels to talking to locals, your trip will undoubtedly be filled with daunting tasks. However, for me, the best moments were when I overcame these apparent obstacles.
- Document your journey. During my trip, I made an Instagram account where I posted pictures and descriptions of each day. This created such a fun collection of memories to look back on and ensured that I wouldn’t forget a single moment of my incredible journey. While this isn’t necessary, I highly recommend taking tons of photos and videos.
- Get excited!! Your trip is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and will give you so many core memories. Value every single moment and prepare for an adventure that you’ll most definitely never forget!
