Global Shabbat is Coming Soon
It’s November, which means… Global Shabbat is almost here! This year, 2023, BBYO’s Global Shabbat is December 8th-9th! Almost a month away!
Global Shabbat is so amazing because it is a Shabbat where thousands of teens around the international order come together to celebrate Shabbat. Thousands of teens are involved!
This year, in honor of the centennial, the theme is Forever Young! It is so exciting to see that BBYO has thrived for the past 100 years! We also have a second theme this year: Responding to The Moment. This is in response to the tragic events of October 7th and the increase in antisemitism following that. BBYO communities around the order have been responding to the moment.
I am one of the Global Shabbat Coordinators this year, and we are hard at work! We can’t wait to see how amazing the programs will be in your communities! We, as Global Shabbat coordinators, work closely with each other, the international Sh’lichim, and Jessica Zimmerman! We also work with teen leaders across the order to make sure Global Shabbat is the best! We have been hard at work on Zoom, WhatsApp, and beyond!
So, how do you get involved? Keep an eye out on your region’s and chapter’s social media pages and messages to see when events are happening! Plus, if you are planning a program, be sure to submit your idea to the website! Also, keep an eye out on @bbyoinsider‘s Instagram! Posts will be coming out soon!
Save the date: December 8th-9th is Global Shabbat!
