Why You Should Go On a BBYO Passport Trip
Over the summer of 2022, I had the pleasure of joining the Ultimate Europe BBYO Passport Trip! This Passport Trip takes you through England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy and Slovenia. Attending this BBYO Passport Trip allowed me to explore amazing places while making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
One highlight from my trip was exploring Jewish museums throughout Europe. One museum that stuck me was Fort Breendonk, a former military camp in Belgium that served as a Nazi prison camp during World War II. It was astonishing to see the conditions people lived in during the Holocaust, including the mite infested rooms, torture chambers, and one toilet for hundreds of people.
In addition, I loved spending each Shabbat in a different synagogue throughout Europe. It was amazing seeing other people’s cultures and Jewish traditions. Throughout my trip, we got to spend Shabbat in London, Brussels, Venice, and Rome. Shabbats were always my favorite days of the week because we got to reflect back on a hectic week, and spend quality time with one another.
Some of my favorite activities during the BBYO Passport Trip were biking in The Netherlands, white-water rafting through Slovenia, going to Versailles and exploring each city. From biking 18 miles through the picturesque Amsterdam countryside and eating fresh cheese, to jumping off rocks into clear Slovenian water that was drinking quality, BBYO passport provided each traveler with awesome experiences. Further, I loved being able to explore each city with my friends, indulging in local shopping and eating the unique cuisine.
Overall, If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend a BBYO Passport Trip. I have made lasting friendships and unforgettable memories, while seeing 8 countries that I had never been to before.
