In today's society, there is immense pressure put on teenagers succeed and do well in academics as well as engage in extracurriculars. Many of us find ourselves roped into additional activities that we have no interest in or find ourselves feeling obligated to take the highest and hardest courses simply because it is what we are told we must do for our futures. When pressure like this is placed on teens, it can become easy for us to lose sight of what our true purpose or passion may be.

Author Alex Banayan of “The Third Door” has developed a method that she says can show anyone, regardless of age, what they are passionate about in just 30 days. Starting off is easy! Buy a journal and write “30 DAY CHALLENGE” on the front cover; doing this will remind you to utilize the notebook daily. Additionally before beginning, commit yourself to spending everyday for the next 30 days journaling about three questions. You will need to answer all questions everyday at the same time.

The three questions are:
What excited me today?
What drained me of energy today?
What did I learn about myself today?

By considering these three things daily, you will be training your brain to think introspectively. By day 14, you will begin to get the hang of it, and day 22 is when it starts to get interesting, as patterns begin forming and you will be excited to journal every night. Finally, day 28 is when it starts to count, as you will start making realizations about what in life challenges you and brings you the most joy, ultimately helping you realize your true drive in life! I highly reccomend giving this a try, it doesn’t hurt to explore what you love!
