Election Advice
1.Walk in as if you have already won
Confidence is everything, if you walk in looking nervous and present yourself as nervous, no one will take you seriously for the job.
2.Every second you worry about your opponent is another second you can be improving your goals and ideas
There really is no point in worrying about who you are running against because that shouldn’t affect your preparation for this election. You should be doing your ultimate best no matter who your opponents are.
3.Know that losing is healthy
When you think about it, winning every single election is unrealistic. You should have a passion for any position you run for and it’s ok to be upset about a loss, but losing is not the end of the world.
4.You didn’t join BBYO to be on board, so don’t leave if you lose
This organization and movement are about so much more than the title you can hold. You are given the opportunity to make an impact no matter your position.
5.Do not politick
It’s simple, you politicking shows that you don’t think you are the best for the job. If you can’t follow the rules during the preparation, how are you going to post-election?
6.Remember why you are running
If you don’t have a purpose for running, why would you put in all the work? Stay true to yourself and your purpose throughout the entire process.
