In this article, I will walk you through my BBYO Passport trip throughout Central Europe. From Berlin to Warsaw and in each place, I'll cover my favorite parts while also getting to explore Jewish history, visit Holocaust sites, and make amazing memories. It truly was such a meaningful, fun, and unforgettable experience.
This summer, I had the privilege of visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau for the first time with BBYO Passport Central Europe Discovery. This experience was life-changing and eye-opening, giving me a new perspective on how lucky we are to be here today. From standing on the train tracks where millions of Jews were taken, to seeing the sleeping quarters and gas chambers, and to reciting Kaddish, I felt a mix of shock, grief, pride, and hope. This visit drove home for me the strength and resilience of our people and inspired me to carry these lessons forward, making sure the horrors of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
Looking back on a year ago today and how it shaped me into the person I am now. Along with a couple of tips that I wish someone had told me before I went on a summer program.

I joined BBYO for the people—the friends, the community, the feeling of belonging. But I didn’t expect it to completely change how I see myself and my role in the world. What started as going to summer programs and chapter events slowly turned into something so much bigger: confidence, leadership, and a real sense of responsibility to make an impact. This year, through the StandWithUs Kenneth Leventhal High School Internship, I saw all of that come to life.
I went to ILTC without ever experiencing BBYO—and came away realizing just how big and connected this movement really is.
