About Stand UP Adventure Costa Rica

Experience the vibrant landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Costa Rica through service and adventure on our Stand UP Adventure Costa Rica summer program. Starting in San José, teens engage in meaningful service with Fundación Humanitarian and connect with local communities like the BriBri and Boruca, learning about their traditions and way of life. This journey takes you from the bustling city to the serene rainforests and stunning coastlines, where you'll hike through Cahuita National Park, raft the thrilling rapids of Sarapiqui, and zipline through lush canopies. Alongside your adventures, you'll earn volunteer hours while working on projects that support indigenous communities, explore eco-friendly farming, and even learn the art of chocolate-making. With every day packed full of new experiences—from horseback riding to La Fortuna Waterfall to soaking in the Baldi Hot Springs—you'll create memories that truly last a lifetime.

Is it Right for Me?

Stand UP Adventure Costa Rica is designed for teens who want to explore and engage with Costa Rica, but you don’t need to be an experienced outdoors enthusiast to enjoy the trip. While there will be some long hikes and community service days, most of the activities are accessible to everyone, and the majority of the touring is bus-based. This program offers a balanced way to experience the country’s natural beauty and learn about its culture through both adventure and community interaction. Get ready for an unforgettable journey—Pura Vida awaits!

Trip Overview

We have provided the following trip overview to give you a better sense of this experience.
