About Eastern Region

BBYO Eastern Region consists of three councils - Virginia, North Carolina and Southeast. Virginia Council has chapters in Charlottesville, Newport News, Richmond and Tidewater. North Carolina Council has chapters in Asheville, Blacksburg, Charlotte, Chapel Hill/Durham, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wilmington and Winston-Salem. Southeast Council consists of Augusta, Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Savannah. Currently, more than 800 Jewish teens participate in BBYO Eastern Region.

Eastern is led by professional staff, volunteer advisors and 33 elected AZA and BBG Council Board Members. Teens enjoy local chapter experiences, six (6) council and regional teen led conventions which revolve around community service, Judaism, sisterhood/brotherhood, athletics and much more throughout the year.

Our chapters hold weekly or bi-monthly events at locations around the region. Events are planned by teens, for teens, and programming ranges from fun activities like bowling and making s’mores over a bonfire, to more serious programming around social justice or leadership development. A parent, advisor, or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health.
