About Us

South Jersey Region (SJR) comprises 8 chapters across Southern New Jersey, representing more than 400 Jewish teens. The region includes four BBG chapters (for those identifying as female) and four AZA chapters (for those identifying as male).

Members have opportunities to participate in local programming in their communities, as well as regional experiences such as dances, community service days, sports events, and weekend conventions. Teens can also take part in international programming through large-scale conferences and BBYO Summer Experiences.

Chapters hold events every two to three weeks, all planned by teens, for teens. Programming ranges from social and creative activities to experiences focused on leadership development and sisterhood/brotherhood. A parent, advisor, or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health.

Fun fact: South Jersey’s colors are red and black, and its mascot is Sammy the Tomato.
